Transportation to and from the cruise ports

There are three cruise ports in Copenhagen: Langelinie, Nordre Toldbod, and Ocean Quay. Please click here to find out which cruise port your client will arrive to.

To and from Ocean Quay

Copenhagen Airport

  • Bus 25 and Metro: Take bus 25 (only runs during the summer period) from the bus stop Oceankaj towards Nørreport Station. Get off at Nørreport Station and take the Metro to Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approximately 40 minutes. You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Bus 27 and train: Take bus 27 (runs all year round) from the bus stop Oceankaj towards Østerport Station. Then take the regional train to Copenhagen Airport. The duration of this trip is approximately 50 minutes. You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approximately 475 DKK during weekdays and around 575 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is about 40 minutes. 

Copenhagen Central Station

  • Bus 27 and train: Take bus 27 from the bus stop Oceankaj to Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at København H. (Copenhagen Central Station). The duration of the trip is approximately 30 minutes. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approximately 300 DKK on weekdays and about 350 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the journey is about 30 minutes. 

Copenhagen City Center

When going to Copenhagen City Center, you can either choose to go to Nørreport or Copenhagen Central Station (find directions above). 

  • Bus 25: Nørreport can be reached in the summer period by taking bus number 25 from the bus stop at Ocean Quay, which goes directly to Nørreport Station. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Bus 27 and train: You can also take bus number 27 all year round to Østerport Station and then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi to Kongens Nytorv: the trip will cost approx. 250 DKK on weekdays and about 275 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the journey is about 20 minutes. 

How to purchase tickets for public transportation: 

  • You can access the trains, Metro and buses (including water buses) with the same ticket - you simply need to find out how many zones you will pass on your journey. To find out how many zones your journey requires, please use the journeyplanner tool here
  • You can purchase tickets on the bus with Danish cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Tickets can be purchased from the tourist information, from a ticket machine, and in a souvenir shop located at Ocean Quay. 
  • Alternatively, you can download the app "Mobilbilletter" and purchase local tickets for in and around Copenhagen. Choose English as the language in the app. The app is available for iPhone and Android.

To and from Langelinie

Copenhagen Airport

  • Bus 26 and Metro: Take bus 26 from the bus stop Indiakaj and get off at Kongens Nytorv. Then take the Metro line M2 towards Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approximately 40 minutes. You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approximately 450 DKK on weekdays and around 550 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is about 35 minutes.

Copenhagen Central station

  • Bus 26 and train: Take bus 26 from the bus stop Indiakaj and get off at Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at København H. (Copenhagen Central Station). The duration of the trip is approximately 20 minutes. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip will cost approximately 225 DKK and 275 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is about 20 minutes. 

Copenhagen City Center

When going to Copenhagen City Center, you can either choose to go to Copenhagen Central Station (directions can be found above) or Nørreport.

  • Bus 26 and train: Nørreport can be reached by taking bus 26 from Indiakaj to Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station. The duration of the trip is approximately 15 minutes. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK
  • Hop on Hop Off: You can also choose to take a Hop on Hop off bus that stops at Langelinie. The Hop on Hop off bus stops at among others Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli, etc. The price is 195 DKK. Read more about the Hop on Hop off bus here.
  • Taxi to Kongens Nytorv: the trip costs approximately 150 DKK on weekdays and 175 DKK in the weekends and on bank holidays. The duration of the journey is 15 minutes. 

Purchase tickets

  • You can purchase tickets on the bus with Danish cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Walk to Østerport Station and purchase your tickets at the ticket machines. Credit cards, as well as cash, are accepted.
  • Alternatively, you can download the app "Mobilbilletter" and purchase local tickets for in and around Copenhagen. Choose English as the language in the app. The app is available for iPhone and Android.

To and from Nordre Toldbod

Copenhagen Airport

  • Bus 1A and Metro: Walk 10 minutes to Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) and take bus 1A towards Avedøre St. to Kongens Nytorv. Then take the Metro line towards Copenhagen Airport. The duration of the trip is approximately 40 minutes. You will need a valid 3-zone ticket. The price is 36 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trips cost approximately 400 DKK on weekdays and 525 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the journey is 30 minutes. 

Copenhagen Central Station

  • Bus 1A and train: Walk 10 minutes to Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) and take bus 1A towards Avedøre Station and get off at Hovedbanegården (Tietgensgade). The duration of the trip is approximately 30 minutes. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Taxi: the trip costs approximately 200 DKK on weekdays and 250 DKK at the weekend and on bank holidays. The duration of the journey is 20 minutes. 

Copenhagen City Center

You are close to the city center at Nordre Toldbod, but if you do not want to walk, you can choose one of the following options:

  • Bus 1A and train: Nørreport can be reached by taking bus 1A from Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) towards Avedøre Station and get off at Østerport Station. Then take the S-train in the direction Køge, Høje Taastrup, Frederikssund, Farum or Hillerød (lines A, B, C, E or H) and get off at Nørreport Station or at Copenhagen Central Station. You will need a valid 2-zone ticket. The price is 24 DKK.
  • Hop On Hop Off: You can also walk to Langelinie and take a Hop on Hop off bus, that among others stops at Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli, etc. The price is 195 DKK. Read more about the Hop on Hop off bus here.
  • Taxi: You are already in the city center, but if you do not want to walk, a taxi to e.g., Nørreport will cost approx. 175 DKK on weekdays and 200 DKK at the weekends and on bank holidays. The duration of the trip is approximately 10 minutes.
