Copenhagen Winter Jazz – 25th anniversary

Approximately 600 concerts will be performed in over different venues across Denmark between 30 January-28 February. More than 50 of those venues are in the Copenhagen area. For three weeks, the festival brings together international stars, award-winning Danish projects, and unique themed concerts, from intimate club gigs to major performances.

Copenhagen Winter Pride

Winter Pride in Copenhagen is returning for its fourteenth year, making it Europe’s longest-running Winter Pride. Copenhagen Light Festival 2026

This annual outdoor event runs from 30 January22 February and lights up the city with installations, projections and artistic light displays, free to walk around and explore. The light festival has expanded to outer Nørrebro and Frederiksberg.

Marina Abramović at Cisternerne

From 14 March–30 November, Cisternerne in Frederiksberg will host Seven Deaths, which is a monumental cinematic opera installation by world-renowned performance artist Marina Abramović. The immersive exhibition explores seven iconic operatic deaths, and features Abramović herself alongside actor Willem Dafoe.

100 years of Danish designer Verner Panton

Danish architect and designer Verner Panton (1926–1998) was one of the most innovative designers of the late 20th century. He created the Panton Chair in 1960 which is the first one-piece plastic chair. Visitors can experience his work at Designmuseum Denmark and even stay in a hotel room with his furniture at the Danish design hotel Alexandra

Copenhagen Dining Week 2026

The biggest restaurant festival in Scandinavia takes place in February each year (5-15 February in 2026), where selected restaurants offer a fixed price menu. Participating venues have previously included restaurants with scenic views such as Seaside Toldboden and Væksthuset.

Ski down the top of a waste-to-energy plant

Copenhill, a purpose-built leisure area on the top of the city’s waste-to-energy plant, offers urban skiing with a slalom course and freestyle park, and four ski lifts. For those looking for a slightly less active way to experience this part of the city, you can hike up its slopes for free and catch a view from the top.

Frederiksberg runddel's ice skating rink

Right by the entrance to Frederiksberg Garden, Frederiksberg Runddel transforms into an ice rink every winter. Ice skating on the rink is free and can be enjoyed any time of the day, You can rent skates or rent a pair during opening hours.

Returning for the second year, Skøjteøen is an unique winter destination on Refshaleøen with two ice rinks totaling 1,450 square meters. Created by the Reffen Street Food Market, Skøjteøen invites visitors to warm up warm up with street food and hot drinks from local vendors, and discover unique, handcrafted gifts from creative artisans.

Right by the harbour in central Copenhagen, Broens Ice Rink offers 600 m² of skating fun for the whole family. Located at the end of the Inner Harbour Bridge, it comes with stunning waterfront views and easy access to Broens street-food kitchen before or after your visit.

Kgs. Nytorv's ice skating rink

The 1,300 square metre ice skating rink is circularly shaped around the Crown and the equestrian statue of Christian the 5th on Kongens Nytorv, right in the heart of the city, among iconic historic buildings such as the Royal Theatre, Charlottenborg Palace, Thotts Palæ and Hotel D'Angleterre. You can rent a pair of skates or you can bring your own.
