The Danish cruise network, CruiseCopenhagen, hosted a fam trip for incoming and port agents for the first time ever. The goal was to give an update on new tour offers for cruise guests in Denmark.

For the first time ever, CruiseCopenhagen hosted a fam trip for incoming and port agents. The goal was to update the agents on all the new excursions and tour options that the Danish destinations and ports have to offer.

For CruiseCopenhagen, it is crucial to use the void during the pandemic and make the most out of the time without cruise calls. The fam trip for incoming and port agents is one of the initiatives that the network has launched.

“During this unusual time, it has been important for us to look ahead and continue our work, so we are ready when we again can welcome cruise ships in Denmark. The fam trip is initiated to ensure that the incoming and port agents have the latest offers when advising and planning shore excursions,” says Claus Bødker, Director of CruiseCopenhagen.

Important to improve and develop new tour offers

The fam trip consisted of a total of eight days between August 19th and 28th. It included a visit to the sunshine island Bornholm, which has established two new tourism services. A new cruise reception facility at the port of Rønne and a new visitors centre at the famous Hammershus, a medieval era fortification. The trip also took the agents to Helsingør, Hundested, Nyborg, Fredericia, Aarhus, Aalborg and the top of Denmark, Skagen.

”Denmark has a lot to offer. The charming and authentic cities around the country as well as the many interesting historical sites and beautiful nature. The destinations around the country continue to improve and develop new experiences, so this trip is a great way to stay up-to-date. It was also positive to see how well the destinations handle the necessary precautions and safety measures,” says Jens Elers, owner & CEO, DMC Denmark.

At all Danish destinations, safety is a top priority, and due to the pandemic, there is a strict focus on ensuring social distance and proper hand hygiene while maintaining the good guest experience.
