NordhusCPH is Nordhavn’s newest home for culture, creativity, and communal dining. Everything is driven by a young culture collective, who, besides communal dinners, also will host concerts, workshops and events. The communal dinners will take place Thursday-Saturday on the premise that food and shared meals are our common language, which we need in order to evolve and get to know one another. The centre for the dinners is colourful servings made from fresh and seasonal produce inspired by food from all over the world. As a sustainable practice, 1% of the bill is also dedicated to the organisation Foodprint Nordic and its projects that support regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems.

Bar Vitrine – opened September 2024
Indian-inspired food by former Noma chef
Copenhagen City Center
Bar Vitrine is a collaboration between restaurateur Riccardo Marcon, owner of Barabba and Propaganda, and the founder of the Danish multidisciplinary design brand FRAMA, Niels Strøyer Christophersen. Together, they have created a small and intimate contemporary wine bar and eatery. The kitchen is run by the Indian-born and former noma chef Dhriri Arora. Using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, Dhriri’s approach to the kitchen is a constantly changing à la carte menu influenced by the food culture she grew up with, combined with her dishes reflecting her experiences. The wines at Bar Vitrine will reflect Marcon’s approach and experience with a strong focus on mainly native grape varieties and terroir-driven wines. The eatery's interior is influenced by the identity of Frama’s furniture, where a large wooden communal table serves as the room’s centrepiece, complemented by seating by the windows.

Far - opened August 2024
Vegetable-only restaurant in intimate settings
Vesterbro
A small and intimate space with only 20 seats, the restaurant Far (Dad in Danish) opened in August by the owners Thor Birkedal, previously Pauli in Sydhavnen and Nr. 30, and Rasmus Faber. At Far, it is the green dining experience that is paramount, with the vegetables playing the main character. With the philosophy “Use what nature has to offer, when it's on offer” the focus is solely on seasonal produce and local vegetables. Minimising food waste is also a central goal of theirs, which is why the restaurant only offers a tasting menu and not a la carte dishes. Highlighting their commitment to quality and a local mindset, Far serves locally produced beer and natural wine.

Grønne Bønner – opened July 2024
Green Grocer with produce from Zealand’s regenerative farms
Skjolds Plads, Nørrebro
Over the last few years, the square, Skjold’s Plads, in Nørrebro, has been transformed into a meeting place for gastronomic opportunities and new takes. In July, the green grocer Grønne Bønner opened its doors. Grønne Bønner (meaning Green Beens) is a non-profit organisation that facilitates market stalls for small regenerative and cultivating farms from all over Zealand, focusing on organic and biodynamic produce. This concept underlines the fact that it is the farmers who are the ones that know the plants, soil and season the best, and they also get to price and decide the selection in the store. Meaning that the selection in the store is seasonal and changes every week. With the green grocer, Grønne Bønner hopes to initiate a dialogue on how to operate a better agricultural country.

Bar Amore – opened June 2024
Neapolitan-inspired dining by the creators of Mangia, Bevi Bevi, Bar la Una and Circolo
Frederiksberg
In June, the owners and restaurateurs Philip Skovgaard and Lea Parkins, who are also behind the popular Italian places: Mangia, Circolo, Bar la Una and Bevi Bevi, added a fifth restaurant to their Italian empire. Their newest restaurant is called Bar Amore and is inspired by the Neapolitan cuisine with a focus on pasta and wine as well as serving more oven-baked fish and seafood in general. The restaurant is the next-door neighbour to their Tuscan-inspired restaurant Circolo whom they also share kitchen and washing facilities with. Bar Amore advocates for a more loose atmosphere and vibe. Here, you won’t find any main courses on the menu, which instead is inspired by the informal way of dining with more small courses. At the same time, the wine should be half of the experience at Bar Amore, with wines imported from natural manufacturers in Italy and France.

Babel – opened June 2024
Elevated pitas and natural wine
Nørrebro
At Nørrebrogade, the street of kebabs and shawarmas, the newly opened small and intimate place Babel has opened up for walk-ins only from Thursday to Saturday. Babel has a simple concept of serving pitas and natural wines, but unlike its neighbours in Nørrebrogade, the pitas at Babel are elevated and luxurious. Here, you can find fillings such as chicken liver or beef kidney, while their side dishes are inspired by the dishes in Balkan. It is the previous Michelin chef at Pluto and Maison Rasmus Oubæk, who is behind the restaurant. A restaurateur who also owns the popular chains Jagger and Otto in Copenhagen.

Alouette – opened June 2024
Fine dining presented in farm-specific dishes
Copenhagen City Center
The restaurant closed in its former premises last year, and in June, the Michelin-starred restaurant Alouette opened up again. This time in the historic city center of Copenhagen with a new fine dining concept. Here, Alouette has introduced a focus on so-called plots, which are unique dishes, each focusing on ingredients from a specific Danish farm and transformed into delicious dishes by Executive Chef Nick Curtin and Head Chef Ole Lindgreen. Alouette’s approach extends beyond the menu, embracing sustainable partnerships with Danish farmers to elevate modern Danish terroir. The new restaurant has been designed by architect David Thulstrup and merges historic and modern elements featuring both an intimate dining room and a courtyard garden.

Amator – opened May 2024
A French omelette-centrered café
Østerbro
Having been synonymous with the omelet in Copenhagen for the last couple of years, the chef, with Polish ancestry, Mati Pichi, has allied with the previous Alouette chef Luke Cyriaks and opened the breakfast café Amator in Østerbro. Amator means amateur in Polish and aligns with Pichi’s self-perception as he sees himself as an amateur in the industry rather than a professional who knows it all. At Amator, the menu is obviously centred around the French omelette, but the café also serves simple, green food with everything being made from quality, local produce – preferably organic and sustainable. The bright yellow egg yolk colour also influences the café’s interior and space, acting as a red thread, which has been designed and decorated in collaboration with the Polish Wiercinski Studio.

Lido – opened May 2024
Baked goods and lunch options by the owners of Apotek 57
Vesterbro
After the Italian chef and former baker at Mirabelle, Chiara Barla, opened the café Apotek 57 a couple of years ago, the café has been a popular hotspot for Copenhageners and visitors. In May, Barla expanded her baking empire with the café Lido, making her craftmanship even more available. The new café is located in the city centre, has an aesthetic interior, and is on a corner that offers a perfect morning sunspot for coffee. Similar to Apotek 57, everything at Lido is home baked and their menu includes classic Danish buns with cheese and whipped butter, the Japanese sando-sandwiches and also French-inspired dishes like crêpes and omelets while their coffee is brewed with beans from the Danish La Cabra coffee.

Calma – opened January 2024
French and Italian-inspired à la carte restaurant
Nørrebro
In January, the restaurant Calma opened on the vivid and local Nørrebro street Jægersborggade. Calma is rooted in the French and Italian kitchen and only serves à la carte dishes that change according to the season. The restaurant was opened by the two experienced chefs: Christian Marquard, previously Restaurant Levi, and Andrea Calducci, previously the Fat Duck in London, who both wanted to create a calm, homely and informal setting at the restaurant, hence the name Calma, which means calm in Italian. Calma also has a diverse selection of wines ranging from classic to natural.
