CAFFÉ SOSPESO: COPENHAGEN WELCOMES NAPOLI FANS WITH FREE COFFEE
The Danish capital is sending a warm welcome to Neapolitan football fans in the midst of winter's cold — while also paying tribute to Italian coffee culture.
When F.C. Copenhagen host SSC Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on 20 January, visiting Italian fans will be met with a special and familiar gesture of local hospitality. A free espresso.
The offering draws inspiration from the Neapolitan tradition of Caffé Sospeso, in which people who can afford it pay for an extra espresso so someone else may enjoy it later.
F.C. Copenhagen and the official tourism organisation of the Capital Region of Denmark, Wonderful Copenhagen, have pre-purchased 500 espressos across five cafés in the city for Napoli supporters.
The Copenhagen tourism organisation and the city’s football club share a joint ambition of being good ambassadors for the Danish capital.
"As an international club, we represent more than football. We represent Copenhagen. Creating positive experiences for visiting fans is part of how we build the city’s reputation – open, welcom-ing and world-class. That mindset strengthens both the club and Copenhagen as a destination", says Jacob Lauesen, CEO of F.C. Copenhagen.

To receive their free coffee, fans just need to show up with a Napoli scarf or jersey at one of the following cafés — Bottega Estadio, Lido, Minas Kaffebar, Sonny or Sonny Frederiksberg — between 12 noon and 4 pm on 20 January.
“Sometimes a little gesture goes a long way. We wish the Neapolitan fans a fantastic time here in Copenhagen. With Caffé Sospeso, we’re highlighting the Danish and Italian love of excellent food and coffee, a shared cultural language between Copenhagen and Napoli, while also showing the fans our beautiful city,” concludes CEO of Wonderful Copenhagen, Søren Tegen Pedersen.
