In the wake of the pandemic, many destination management organizations have redefined their role and purpose – from having a strong focus on the economic gains from tourism, to now also focusing more on the broader social and business-related effects. Several destination mangement organizations have expanded their role from solely promoting and attracting to now also being a facilitator and network builder that connects the local business community with meeting and congress customers.
