MeetDenmark helps strengthen the Danish destinations' competencies within international meeting and business tourism, which for many is a relatively new business area. Among other things, there is a need for a deeper understanding of the needs and requirements of international meeting bookers, which must then be translated into local product development and branding.
Specifically, MeetDenmark is running a competence development programme for the member destinations over the coming years. The programme consists of around three modules per year, focusing on relevant topics/themes that arise through the destinations' work on developing meeting tourism. Together with the market and potential analyses, the competence development is intended to ensure the best possible starting point for the destinations' development of local strategic action plans for meeting tourism, in collaboration with 'their' tourism industry.
In addition to the competence development programme, MeetDenmark brings together the member destinations' meeting tourism staff four to six times a year in order to ensure the exchange of experience and networking, and thereby build the foundation for further collaboration.
