A shared approach on the events of the future

Photo: MOOT

How have the recent disruptions changed our events? What will be the key elements of the events in the future? What will the new landscape look like?

During the workshop we tried to shed some light on how mind-blowing impactful events organised by purpose driven organisations would look like in the future. This question steered the creativity and guided the hands of eight thought leaders to build with LEGO® bricks the landscape of the events in the future.

A shared Model

In the middle of the landscape stands a “shared” model of the event of the future, where all participants added their ideas (individual LEGO® models) as the key elements of a mind-blowing impactful event.

Each of these individual LEGO® models represents a specific idea and has its own story. Altogether built a shared approach on the Events of the Future.

The disruptors

Besides agents of change, the events of the future landscape also includes disruptors that can affect an event either in a positive or negative way.

During the workshop, each participant built one or more agents of change and placed them close to the shared model and the key element that is more likely to be affected by the respective agent. Such agents include political stability, climate change. It also includes internal stakeholders of the event organiser such as the members, board and staff of the event organiser. In the landscape someone can also find the suppliers, sponsors, engineers, the media and politicians as well as the new generation.

A disruptor that also stands quite high in the landscape overlooking the event and the landscape is 'Sofia' that represents the people that act as the challengers, the ones questioning the why and how of the event.
