The electric boats, designed for comfort with heated seats and a covered cabin, accommodate up to nine people, creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Copenhagen social running clubs
A decade ago, Copenhagen’s craft brewery Mikkeller kickstarted a trend: the social running club. Their idea was to bring together people who liked beer, enjoyed community and wanted to run together, and they set up a running club as a result. Today the social running scene in Copenhagen has exploded – and everyone’s invited. It’s a great way to meet new people and discover a taste of local culture. Everyone from porridge restaurant Grød, community space Absalon and coffee shop Mad & Kaffe has their own version of a social running club. Even if you don’t like running, there’s probably a club for you – Rookie Runners is a women’s only group just for those “who hate running”.

Try Copenhagen-style community dining
Community is an important part of the social fabric in Denmark. In the last few years, community dining has become even more popular, especially in the winter months, giving people a reason to leave the house and get together.
Kanalhuset
At Kanalhuset Christianshavn, a daily shared dinner is served on long tables, inviting guests to chat and get to know each other. They also run lovely events that bring people together, including knitting, crochet, yoga and sketching nights.
Meet The Danes
If you want to get to know the Danes even better, you can visit a family for dinner in their own home. Meet The Danes is a scheme that allows you to book dinner in the home of a Danish family, and then join them for a chat about culture, lifestyle and so much more over a home cooked meal.
