FROM AWARENESS TO EXECUTION

Building on the Copenhagen Risk Assessment White Paper from 2023, the Copenhagen Risk Navigator 2026 aims to elevate risk management to a core business discipline across the entire international business events ecosystem. The Navigator equips organisations, associations and destinations with a shared framework and structured approach to understanding, prioritising, and mitigating risk. By embedding risk into strategy, governance, planning and daily operations, the Risk Navigator helps organisations move from reactive responses to informed, forward-looking decision-making.

The Risk Navigator provides both a reassessment of current risks and an evaluation of organisational risk maturity. It also introduces a practical Risk Management Toolkit, designed to be accessible and scalable, enabling stakeholders at all levels to strengthen their approach throughout the entire event lifecycle.

By integrating risk into strategic choices organisations can act more confidently without compromising purpose or values.

The Copenhagen Risk Navigator has been conducted in collaboration with our valued partners FERMA (Federation of European Risk Management Associations) and RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society), and with GainingEdge as our consultants.

About the Copenhagen Risk Assessment White Paper

Research, interviews and online surveys were conducted during spring 2023 to uncover challenges and explore potential opportunities for change. Risk Management principles have been adapted to the meetings industry and have been produced by Danish risk management experts. The white paper focuses on three risk pillars – strategic, financial, and operational – which are key parts of the business events industry. Due to the nature of the survey respondents, the paper has a strong European angle. The white paper was conducted together with KB Consulting, Mayvin Global Partners, MI Global, and risk specialists Katharina Luu and Charlotte Stokkebye.
