Copenhagen wins Meetings Stars Award
This February, at Conventa 2025's Meetings Star Awards ceremony, Copenhagen picked up the XL Meeting Destinations Award 2024/25.
Copenhagen was named no. 1. in the XL category (which denotes meeting destinations that can host more than 2,000 event attendees).
The justification for the award given by Gorazd Čad and the team behind Conventa, Kongres Magazine, and The Meetings Star Awards, sounded as follows:
Copenhagen is more than a destination; the Danish capital is an experience that will change how you view event organising. The Danish concept of Meetovation formally no longer exists but remains embedded in the DNA of local event organisers. You can explore it by observing their way of life, how they prioritise content over form, and how they host their events. In the Danish capital, event attendees are always the show's stars. Copenhagen is a trendsetter in sustainable practices, from sustainable architecture and locally produced food to responsible events. The city is also a role model everyone in destination marketing should watch, and projects like CopenPay are another reason the Danish capital deserves the title of the best XL Meeting Destination in 2025.
Happy and humble that Copenhagen has been named number 1. in the XL category - which denotes meeting destinations that can host more than 2,000 event attendees - Copenhagen CVB and its local partners will continue working tirelessly with matters such as sustainability and legacy in meetings, innovative meeting concepts, and the development of extraordinary destination actions like the recent CopenPay initiative.
