Hybrid conference with restrictions during the pandemic
A successful one-day hybrid conference during the pandemic where only 500 people could gather for a conference. So 1,000 participants could follow the event online as plenary sessions were live-streamed, allowing for participation for those who could not be there in person.
In October 2020, The Danish Chamber of Commerce hosted a successful one-day hybrid event in the city centre-located venue, Øksnehallen. The event was during a time in the covid-19 pandemic where only 500 people were allowed to gather for a conference if several measures and restrictions were in place. In close collaboration, Øksnehallen and The Danish Chamber of Commerce were able to create a safe event that, not only, was in compliance with official rules and guidelines, but also lived up to all the expectations of the returning annual event.

“The participant’s rating of the 2020 annual event was the highest we have ever received. In general, our events require comprehensive planning, and in this case, it was even more with an extended focus on hygiene. But we succeeded with great results.”
Morten Langager, Executive Vice President, The Danish Chamber of Commerce
Øksnehallen was divided into four zones, and an increased focus on hygiene, extra spacing, crowd control and cleaning ensured safe meeting surroundings for all participants.
Virtual attendance: In addition to the 450 delegates in Øksnehallen, 1,000 participants could follow the event online as plenary sessions were live-streamed, allowing for participation for those who could not be there in person.

“The many square meters available in Øksnehallen made it easy for us to host our annual event. As a professional business organization, we believe it is important to keep the wheels turning and to host events to the extent possible”
Morten Langager, Executive Vice President, The Danish Chamber of Commerce
